The brand Romeo y Julieta appeared in 1875, with an aromatic blend of leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region, in the Pinar del Río region. Romeo y Julieta is the classic medium-flavored Habano, with one of the largest ranges of vitolas in the portfolio. Winston Churchill was one of the brand’s most devoted smokers since his visit to Havana in 1946. His name was used on some bands and gave the name to the brand’s best-known vitola: Romeu y Julieta Churchills. In 2006, Habanos. launched the younger brother of this emblematic vitola: Short Churchills, the Robustos. After 4 years, the famous Wide Churchills were presented, a Habano of thick caliber specially designed for those smokers who like excellent combustion and balanced aroma.
Churchills is a mythical name in the Cuban cigar world. From that visit, several elements reflected this personality’s passion for the Habano. In 2012, the brand launched 2 new products. A new vitola, Petit Churchills, is ideal for those looking for an aromatic and balanced flavor that can be enjoyed in a short time, and Churchills Reserva Cosecha 2008, aged for a minimum of 3 years.
Romeo y Julieta Gran Reserva Cosecha 2009 and Julieta Pirámides Añejados were presented in 2015. After 2 years, the brand presented the Romeo y Julieta Petit Royales and, in 2018, the Edición Limitada Tacos was launched. Maravillas 8, by Romeo and Julieta, was the vitola selected to celebrate the spring festival of the Chinese lunar year in 2020. And lastly, in 2020, Línea de Oro was launched to celebrate the 145th anniversary of the brand with three vitolas Nobles, Hidalgos, and Dianas, to form the premium range within its standard portfolio.
